Privy Ranch

A Letter From Anissa Brady

Privy Ranch really began years ago in the recesses of my mind (and nose, and eyes). Each summer I attended a church camp where I was welcomed by the all-too-familiar smell that came with camping. I absolutely dreaded making the trek to the outhouse, where an awful odor and the disgusting sight of “the hole” would soon greet me.

We’ve all been those situations: nature calls and a clean, indoor restroom, complete with plumbing just isn’t an option. Left with no choice, we subject ourselves to the awful smell and disgusting sights of an outhouse.

For years, I have thought there must be a better way to take care of business without subjecting the senses to such an unpleasant experience.

Spring forward to 2015, where everything began to fall in place for the creation of Privy Ranch. My husband, Jeff and I decided to stop traveling for work, and instead pursue something new together that we could do year round. Fortunately, God presented us with the opportunity to follow our new dream. Motivated by our passion to change the experience of outdoor bathrooms, Privy Ranch was born.

Anissa Brady

Owner and Privy Queen

Anissa Brady was born and raised with her brother and sister in a small oilfield town in NW Colorado. She met her husband, Jeff Brady, in the same small town and the two have been married for 31 years. Family is very important to Anissa, and she couldn’t feel more blessed to have two children and four beautiful grandchildren. Both Anissa and her mother are breast-cancer survivors and truly count each day as a blessing. Anissa has also been honored to serve in several cases as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for abused and neglected children in Colorado and Northern Idaho since 2008.

Jeff Brady

Craftsman

Jeff Brady was born and raised on a ranch in NW Colorado. He grew up with two brothers and an older sister, and remembers those days as wonderful and carefree. In addition to spending time with his wonderful family, Jeff also loves ranching, hunting, and fishing. Jeff and his wife Anissa couldn’t be happier to call Northern Idaho home, and describe it as the perfect place to begin Privy Ranch. Jeff is committed to a new way of “doing business”, and is an absolute stickler for doing things right the first time. As the official privy craftsman, Jeff takes a great deal of pride in the quality of work and services offered by Privy Ranch.

Brent Berger

Craftsman and Artist

Brent was born and raised in North Dakota. He spent 25+ years as one of the best River Guide’s in the Grand Canyon, while making his home in NW Colorado where he was neighbors with Jeff and Anissa for several years. He quickly became their “go-to-guy” with remodeling projects because of his analytical approach and attention to detail, but mostly because he NEVER says, “it CAN’T be done”. For Jeff and Anissa he continues to not only be their primary craftsman, but also part of the family. Brent is an amazing artist who loves biking and hiking.  He now splits his time between his home in Colorado and Coeur d’Alene, ID where he is quickly becoming attached to life in the Inland Northwest.
